Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam (GUVNL) has recently announced the 1,125 MW grid-connected solar power project tender. The project will be installed at Gujarat State Electricity Corporation (GSECL)’s renewable energy park in Khavda (GSECL Stage-3).
The last date for tender submission is February 15, 2023, with the bid opening scheduled for February 19.
Bidders must submit Rs 25,000 ($300) + 18% GST as the cost of the tender document. A bid processing fee of Rs 3,00,000 ($3,603) is also applicable, along with an earnest money deposit of Rs 9,28,000 ($11,146) per MW of the quoted capacity.
After selection, the bidders have to offer an amount equivalent to Rs 2.32 million ($27,866) per MW for the assigned capacity as a performance bank guarantee after receiving the letter of intent but before signing the power purchase agreement (PPA).
Bidders must commit to a minimum capacity of 50 MW. Eligibility criteria encompass projects under construction, those not yet operational, and those already in operation without a long-term PPA. This is applicable solely to projects not accepted under other central or state programs and unburdened by obligations to current buyers.
Successful bidders must sign a PPA with GUVNL within 30 days of receiving the letter of intent or within 10 days from the Gujarat Commission’s approval of the tariff, whichever comes later.
Only commercially established and operational technologies are allowed to minimise technology risk and ensure timely project commissioning.
