Korkia and BIWO Renewables have collaborated to work on 1 GW of solar photovoltaic projects in Italy.
Both companies have teamed up for a strategic partnership focusing on greenfield development and a diversified portfolio spanning various locations and technologies.
This collaboration will involve the pursuit of ground-mounted solar, agri-voltaics, and standalone battery projects, particularly in congested areas. The first projects under this partnership are anticipated to reach the ready-to-build stage in the first half of 2024.
According to Mikko Kantero, Korkia’s EVP of New Markets & Origination, BIWO Renewables boasts an impressive track record, having actively participated in the development, construction, and operation of over 4,000 MW of capacity on a global scale. BIWO Renewables currently has 100 MW of solar and 300 MW of battery projects in advanced stages of development.
