In the month of November, the Federation of Automobile Dealers Association (FADA) released data showing a significant rise in electric vehicle sales. E-two-wheeler sales experienced an 18.82% increase, climbing to 91,243 units, up from 76,791 units in the same month last year. Additionally, the e-three-wheeler segment saw a 32.37% surge in volume, with sales reaching 53,766 vehicles compared to 40,619 units in the previous year’s corresponding month.
The overall electric vehicle retail sales, encompassing both passenger and commercial vehicles, witnessed a 25.5% growth, totalling 1,52,606 units in November. This was a notable increase from November 2022’s sales figures of 1,21,596 units, as reported by FADA.
Delving into specific categories, the retail sales of electric passenger vehicles in November this year stood at 7,064 units. This marks a substantial growth of 77.35% over the 3,983 units sold in the same month last year. The electric commercial vehicle sector, including e-buses, also reported robust growth. Sales in this segment reached 533 units in the previous month, a dramatic year-on-year increase of 162% from 203 units sold in November 2022.
