A fresh selection of N Channel Power MOSFETs is now available for developers across various applications, encompassing automotive, green energy, industrial controls, power supplies, and rechargeable household appliances.

Element14 has revealed its expansion plans, including over 250 fresh Toshiba items in its inventory. This comprehensive lineup encompasses a brand-new assortment of N Channel Power MOSFETs, catering to various voltage requirements, from high voltage, approximately 600V-650V, to low voltage, spanning 30V-150V. Ibtissame Krumm, the Senior Supplier Account Manager at Element14, remarked, “The global power semiconductor market is experiencing rapid expansion. While the demand for power semiconductors in the automotive sector has garnered significant attention, it’s important to note that numerous other applications are growing at an equally rapid pace, if not faster.”

The Power MOSFET is the driving force behind many of these applications. Aside from its well-known use in automotive applications, this component plays a crucial role in various other sectors, including green energy applications like solar inverters and heat pumps, industrial control systems, power supplies, and rechargeable household devices such as cordless gardening tools. Power MOSFETs’ performance is pivotal to these devices’ overall system performance and often serves as the initial focal point for development engineers embarking on new projects.

The company now offers a selection of new MOSFETs, including:

  • TPH3R10AQM Power MOSFET: Utilizing the U-MOS-X process, this device delivers enhanced on-resistance and a safe operating area. It is well-suited for demanding applications like switching power supplies in data centres, communication base stations, and various industrial uses.
  • DTMOSVI Series: The TK055U60Z1 is the inaugural product in the 600V DTMOSVI series, built on Toshiba’s latest-generation process featuring a super junction structure, a significant advancement in power MOSFET technology. This new MOSFET boasts an RDS(on) of just 55mΩ, marking a 13% improvement compared to similar devices in Toshiba’s DTMOSIV-H series.
  • TPH9R00CQ5 Power MOSFET: Based on the U-MOS X-H Trench process, this power MOSFET is valuable for high-performance switching power supplies, including those in communication base stations and other industrial applications. In high-performance power solutions utilising synchronous rectification, reverse recovery performance is crucial. The TPH9R00CQ5 incorporates a high-speed body diode that reduces the reverse recovery charge (Qrr) by approximately 74% (to 34nC typ.) when compared to an existing device like the TPH9R00CQH.
  • XPQR3004PB Power MOSFET: This new device harnesses advanced heat dissipation capabilities to accommodate higher automotive currents. With a voltage rating of 40V, it offers increased current handling capabilities and reduced on-resistance in thermally enhanced L-TOGLTM packages.

Customers involved in developing new products necessitate convenient and swift access to these vital components to facilitate the design, testing, assessment, prototyping, and introduction of fresh concepts. Consequently, Element14’s collaboration with Toshiba, complemented by Toshiba’s state-of-the-art 300-millimeter wafer fabrication facility for power semiconductors, will guarantee that both companies can effectively meet the escalating demand for top-notch MOSFETs and a multitude of other semiconductor products. This partnership aims to support the exponential growth in demand for these high-quality components.
