Ather Energy has revealed intentions to penetrate the international scene by exporting its premier model, the 450X, to Nepal. To establish its inaugural global presence, Ather is collaborating with Vaidya Energy, a branch of the prominent Nepalese industrial group Vaidya’s Organization of Industries & Trading Houses (VOITH). This partnership will inaugurate its Experience Centre in Kathmandu this coming November.
The alliance between Ather Energy and Vaidya Energy aims to transform the electric two-wheeler landscape in Nepal by offering high-quality EVs to the local populace. Through this collaboration, Vaidya Energy will support distributing and maintaining Ather’s offerings in Nepal. This strategic move will likely propel the advancement of India’s automotive supply sector.
Ravneet Phokela, the chief business officer at Ather, spoke about this development and shared his enthusiasm about the growing domestic electric scooter sales and the brand’s aspirations to broaden its global reach. He acknowledged the substantial market demand and highlighted Nepal as the inaugural step in their global venture. Phokela sees Nepal’s auto sector as reflecting a global shift towards eco-friendly transport alternatives. In keeping with their holistic market strategy, Ather will also introduce their public fast-charging infrastructure in Nepal, a strategy that has set them apart in India. The partnership with the Vaidya Group is pivotal for Ather’s entry into the Nepalese market, leveraging the group’s vast automotive retail experience to enhance customer experience.
