Magenta Mobility, an integrated electric fleet provider, has ventured into the electric four-wheeled commercial vehicle domain in collaboration with Tata Motors. They have entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Tata Motors to roll out 500 Tata Ace EV units, presenting an eco-friendly, intelligent transportation solution suitable for numerous intra-city purposes.
The partnership aligns with Magenta’s dedication to making logistics more environmentally friendly by offering sustainable mobility solutions, contributing to a more eco-conscious transportation system.
Magenta’s unveiling of their electric four-wheel commercial vehicle fleet, in collaboration with Tata Motors, was inaugurated by Maxson Lewis, the Managing Director of Magenta Mobility, and Ashish Tandon, the Senior General Manager of Product Line – SCV&PU at Tata Motors. The event also had distinguished attendees like Shyam Sundar, the India Head of Morgan Stanley, Sophia Nadur from BP Ventures, and Darryl Dias from Magenta Mobility.
Maxson Lewis, the Founder and Managing Director of Magenta Mobility, commented on the alliance, stating that they would work hand-in-hand with Tata Motors to explore new electrification opportunities. Their collective goal is to boost electric vehicle adoption in city deliveries, striving for a more sustainable approach to intra-city logistics in India, especially in the last-mile and mid-mile freight sectors.
Vinay Pathak, the Business Head of SCV&PU at Tata Motors, highlighted that the Ace EV offers a comprehensive solution, designed in collaboration with partners, to meet various intra-city distribution requirements, guaranteeing maximum uptime.
Magenta Mobility, a frontrunner in electric mobility and EV charging solutions, has set bold goals to have between 1,000 and 10,000 electric vehicles on the roads by 2024. Magenta operates in cities like Bengaluru, Mysuru, Hyderabad, Mumbai, Pune, Delhi, Noida, Gurugram, and Surat. They manage a fleet of more than 1,200 electric vehicles that cater to clients from diverse industries such as e-commerce, grocery delivery, FMCG, food, and pharmaceuticals, focusing on last-mile deliveries.
With the inclusion of the Ace EV in their fleet, Magenta is looking forward to electrifying more areas of the last-mile and mid-mile delivery sectors.
