In a strategic move aimed at transforming last-mile logistics in India, Greaves Electric Mobility has introduced the ‘Greaves Eltra.’ Operating under the tagline ‘Everything Extra,’ this electric cargo three-wheeler is poised to redefine the landscape of cargo transportation.

With a potent 9.5 kW peak performance capacity and a sturdy 10.8 kWh battery, the Greaves Eltra promises efficiency and reliability, capable of covering over 100 kilometers on a single charge. The spacious factory-fitted delivery box offers 140 cubic feet of cargo space, optimizing storage capacity. It focuses on assisting businesses in streamlining delivery routes and enhancing last-mile logistics operations.

In his comments on the launch, Sanjay Behl, CEO of the Electric Mobility Business, expressed that they were driven by the purpose of democratizing smart and sustainable mobility in India. He announced the launch of Greaves Eltra and highlighted their established ecosystem of aftersales support, spare parts availability, and financing options, guaranteeing a world-class ownership experience for all their customers.

He also noted that with India’s last-mile delivery sector experiencing exponential growth due to rising urban consumers, Eltra is well-suited for both large and small businesses. Sanjay Behl emphasized that Greaves Eltra represents their commitment to a smarter and more sustainable future.

The vehicle takes inspiration from the modern color palette of India, featuring shades like Aqua Blue, Neon Green, Martian Orange, and Lunar White. With its 6.2″ digital cluster equipped with Bluetooth and Navigation, along with technology integration capabilities, it becomes a good choice for business owners. This allows them to monitor their vehicle’s status and optimize their fleet operations efficiently.

The Greaves Eltra’s 12-degree gradeability and torque of 49 Nm ensure that it can easily handle inclines and city pathways. Its electrical components are both waterproof and dustproof, ensuring reliability in all weather conditions.

It also offers advanced tech features, including geolocation, geofencing, and remote diagnostics, to cater to the demands of modern logistics.

As the demand for efficient and environmentally friendly transportation options continues to rise, Eltra addresses a vital market need. It serves as a testament to our dedication to engineering excellence, sustainability, and our responsiveness to the evolving requirements of the contemporary logistics industry.

The L5 industry has rebounded to pre-pandemic levels and is poised for further growth. It’s worth noting that all five of the L5 cargo vehicles currently sold in India are electric.

Manufactured in Hyderabad by one of Greaves Electric Mobility’s subsidiaries, the Greaves Eltra will be available nationwide through the company’s extensive network. This ensures customers across the country will benefit from a seamless experience and post-sales support, reaffirming Greaves Electric Mobility’s dedication to serving every corner of India.

Greaves Electric Mobility Private Limited (GEMPL), a subsidiary of Greaves Cotton Limited (GCL), is a significant participant in India’s Electric Vehicle (EV) technology sector. Drawing strength from GCL’s extensive EV ecosystem, GEMPL has been pioneering the design and production of electric vehicles for over 13 years, firmly solidifying its position in the electric 2-wheeler and 3-wheeler segments.

Under the electric 2-wheeler category, the ‘Ampere’ brand has emerged as a growing e-scooter brand with a formidable footprint in both the B2C and B2B markets. Additionally, MLR Auto Limited, a subsidiary of Greaves Electric Mobility Private, and associate company Bestway Agencies Private Limited, are swiftly expanding their presence in the electric 3-wheeler segment.
