- There are three other Indian supercomputers on the list of the 500 fastest supercomputers
In order to provide digital delivery to Indian citizens, the government has announced plans to add nine more supercomputers under the National Super Computer Mission.
The AI Supercomputer ‘AIRAWAT’ installed at C-DAC, Pune has earned 75th rank all over the world. Manufactured by Netweb Technologies, AIRAWAT is India’s largest and fastest AI supercomputing system, with a remarkable speed of 13,170 teraflops (Rpeak). It runs on Ubuntu 20.04.2 LTS operating system and is powered by AMD EPYC 7742 64C 2.25GHz processor with 81,344 cores.
Apart from AIRAWAT, there are three other Indian supercomputers on the list of the 500 fastest supercomputers in the world.
- PARAM Siddhi-AI supercomputer has got 131 position. It has been installed at the Center for Development of Advanced Computing (C-DAC), Pune.
- Pratyush supercomputer is on 169 position, installed at the Indian Institute of Tropical Meteorology.
- The third is Mihir on no 316. is a Cray XC40 machine. It is installed at the National Centre for Medium-Range Weather Forecasting. Mihir is powered by Xeon E5-2695v4 18C 2.1GHz, Aries interconnect and HPE.
