Samvardhana Motherson International Ltd, a pioneering figure in the auto component realm, has initiated a groundbreaking acquisition of Germany’s Dr Schneider Group – a mastermind in high-tech car interior systems. This collaboration is poised to chart new territories in electronic car interiors, potentially reshaping the industry’s future.
Samvardhana Motherson, through its subsidiary SMRPBV, has cemented an agreement, paving the way for a monumental union with Dr Schneider Group, known for their state-of-the-art electronic interior polymer systems. This takeover isn’t just a transaction; it’s a technology fusion of two behemoths.
Dr Schneider’s prowess is undeniable. Leading innovations in air vents, and integrating decorative interior components with illumination, the group boasts a dominant position, especially in premium vehicles. Their operations stretch over seven facilities across five pivotal countries, employing a massive workforce of 4,500.
Diving into the financial specifics, the acquisition’s enterprise value stands at approximately €118.3 million, with potential standard adjustments on the horizon. German assets alone contribute to an estimated €69.1 million, whereas shares of overseas wings pitch in with €49.2 million.
The enthusiasm is palpable. “We foresee immense synergistic potentials, especially in R&D,” expresses Motherson Chairman Vivek Chaand Sehgal. With over 200 patents under Schneider’s belt, more than 90% of its product line is a testament to in-house genius. “Our acquisition ensures a doorway to groundbreaking electronic interior components, allowing us to leverage our expansive global footprint and nourish enduring customer relationships,” asserts the company.
