More than 300 kids will receive teaching and after-school assistance from the school.
As part of a partnership with Vidya & Child, Cadence Design Systems (India) Pvt. Ltd., a wholly owned subsidiary of Cadence Design Systems, Inc., has finished building a school in Noida for impoverished children. Cadence provided the funding for the building of the school and closely collaborated with Vidya & Child, an NGO, to assure the structure’s architectural quality.
More than 300 children from Khoda Village’s surrounding region are served by the school, which has been fully operating since February 2023. Khoda Village is located in Noida, Uttar Pradesh. The majority of the kids are first-generation learners from underserved regions of the local community, with daily wage workers for parents. The school serves children from nursery to eighth grade, after which time they are enrolled in local public schools. The pupils continue to attend Vidya & Child School for extracurricular activities and additional educational help once they transfer to regular schools.
The brand-new school offers cutting-edge and green amenities, such as a STEM lab, a dedicated computer lab, and electricity backup provided by solar energy. In order to inspire pupils to seek professions in technology, Cadence also donated computers to the school’s STEM lab in addition to providing financial and advising help for the construction.
For the past 23 years, Cadence has been a dependable partner of Vidya & Child, supporting a number of its after-school programmes. The 400 pupils who have benefited from this partnership are served by the Vidya & Child centre in Barola, Noida. 25 students from the Barola centre have also enrolled in the CadenceĀ® Scholarship Program, which offers mentorship and money for higher education scholarships.
“Empowering underprivileged children with the knowledge and skills needed to achieve their full potential is a major focus area for Cadenceās CSR activities. We are proud to have helped build this school for the betterment of these children, and in particular, providing a conducive environment for girls to study STEM. The school paves the way for educational opportunities that may not have otherwise existed,ā said Jaswinder Ahuja, corporate VP and India managing director, Cadence. āThis latest collaboration with Vidya & Child furthers our commitment to cultivating local talent, encouraging girls to study and making an impact in our local communities.”
Supriya Akhaury, founder trustee and director of Vidya & Child said, āVidya & Child was started with the belief that every child needs access to good-quality, holistic education that allows them to strive for opportunities equally in todayās world. Over the years, Cadence has provided Vidya & Child with both financial and advisory support, which has helped educate more than 2,000 children, 400 of whom have completed schooling with Vidya & Child and are now either in college or have joined the workforce. By establishing this new school with Cadence, weāre jointly creating a way for local children to obtain a competitive skill set that can prepare them for more advanced schooling later in life and fuel inspiration for future career paths.ā
